A public consultation on proposals to alter the opening hours at Lavenham Library, due to minor changes in staffing patterns, has been launched.

The library in Church Street is asking for views from residents on a number of changes, which would result in a net increase of half an hour in the weekly opening hours schedule.

Under the proposals, the library would open on Mondays, from 10am to 1pm, but would no longer be available on Sundays.

It would also see increased opening times on Fridays, and a reduction in hours on Saturdays, while Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays would remain the same as the existing timetable.

Any amendments to the opening hours will have to be approved by the Suffolk Libraries Board and Suffolk County Council.

To view the full details of the changes and give your thoughts, pick up a consultation form at Lavenham Library.

Alternatively, respondents can go online to www.surveymonkey.com/r/LavenhamOpeningHours.

The deadline for submissions to the survey is Tuesday, June 18.
