COMMUNITY spirited regulars have been praised by a pub landlord.
Dan Wicks, who runs The Brook Inn in Great Cornard says the kind-heartedness of his customers has been very much in evidence recently, with money raised for charities and help provided in sprucing up the pub’s frontage.
Mrs Wicks, who has been at the pub for five years, said: “The regulars got together to organise a fun day for the Royal wedding and we also had a barbecue which raised £200 for Help For Heroes.
“A charity bottle which was stolen earlier in the year was also found and we donated £100 to Dial a Ride.”
He added that customers had run a hanging basket competition to brighten up the front of the pub and now more than 20 tubs and baskets have been planted up.
“The community spirit is fantastic, the customers are always willing to get involved for a good cause and help out others,” Mr Wicks said.
“They really are a great bunch.”
