The Bay Horse in Sudbury recently hosted the second Annual Pete Martin Memorial Charity Pool Day in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.
Following on from the last year’s success the competition attracted even more entrants this year.
Pete Martin was the chairman of the Sudbury & District Pool League for many years and was well known and liked on both the pool scene and around Sudbury as a whole.
In total 45 players entered. The final saw last year’s champion Chris Drake take on Mark Baldwin, Drake retaining his title with a 3-2 win.
Organiser Charlie Drake, said: “The whole day was played in great spirits with some great matches.” As well as the pool there was a barbecue and a raffle. Pete’s son Steve Martin presented the trophy and thanked entrants and organisers, the event raising £700 for the charity.
