Lavenham has had its post office services restored with a mobile service, after its Lavenham Pharmacy branch closed down.

The mobile van is helping to restore services to village this week, operating from Lavenham Village Hall car park in Church Street on Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 2pm to 4pm, and on Thursday from 12noon to 4pm.

Options are also being looked at to provide a service in the morning.

The Post Office spokeswoman added: “Due to private contractual reasons, the branch at 3 High Street, Lavenham, closed on June 9.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Lavenham Post Office due to a breach of contract.”

She said the vacancy for Lavenham would be readvertised on the Post Office’s website to provide a permanent, full-time solution.
