People’s Park amendment backed by councillors

Changes to a 50metre–wide ‘buffer zone’ around one of the play areas included in proposals for 100 homes on a Sudbury meadow were recommended for approval by councillors last night (Wednesday).

Sudbury Town Council’s planning committee backed the minor amendment to the application from West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

Councillors did note that the recommendation was made without prejudice to any previously submitted application relating to the site.

Speaking before the meeting, commitee chairman Nigel Bennett said the slight changes would be “a good thing” and would help prevent any noise issues around the play area, which has been earmarked for use by older children.
