A catalytic converter marking session is to be held in Hadleigh on Saturday in a bid to reduce thefts.
The police event is taking place at Crockatt Garage Ltd in Crockatt Road between 8.30am and 12.30pm.
It is hoped that by marking at risk vehicles, stealing catalytic converters will become less appealing to thieves.
Pcso Julia Bignell, from Babergh East SNT, said: “Vehicles with a high ground clearance are a favourite of offenders, these include 4x4s, Ford Rangers, Mercedes and Iveco vans.
“These are easier to target as it is easy to crawl under the vehicle and remove the converter which usually takes only a matter of minutes.”
By marking the converter it can be easily identified if stolen. For more call police on 101.
