Police name boy killed after being shot with air gun in Suffolk village


A teenage boy who died following an incident at an address in Thurston yesterday is being formally named by police.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 1:35pm yesterday, Sunday 1 May, to reports that a male had sustained life threatening injuries.

The injured teenager was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in a critical condition, where he sadly died a short while later.

The victim has been identified as 13-year-old Ben Wragge from Thurston.

A post mortem investigation into the death has confirmed that he died as a result of an injury caused by an air pellet.

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the offence and have been bailed pending further enquiries. They are due to return to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on Thursday 16 June.
