Police in hunt for man who pushed 10-year-old child

Efforts are being made to track down a man who pushed a boy to the ground in an underpass in Sudbury after he asked for the time.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak after the incident in Richard Burn Way on March 2 between 2.30pm and 3pm.

A 10-year-old boy was in an underpass when a man walked past him. As he did, the boy asked for the time.

At this point the man became verbally abusive and pushed the boy, causing him to fall to the ground.

The boy did not sustain any injuries.

The man in the CCTV image is described as a white and aged in his forties. He was wearing a thick blue coat with black stripes, a black hat and jeans.

The man was also carrying a plastic bag from a supermarket.

Anyone who recognises the man, or who has any information relating to this incident should contact police.
