Police are trying to trace a driver following a collision involving four cars in Halstead this week.

On Tuesday, a black Jaguar X-type, black Alfa Romeo Gulietta, a silver Mercedes S320 and a silver Ford Escort were involved in a collision in Sudbury Road at about 7.30pm.

A police helicopter was used to trace the driver of the Escort who left the scene.

A spokeswoman for Essex Police said: “Inquiries are on-going to try to trace the driver.”

No-one was seriously injured in the accident, which caused the road to be closed for more than four hours.

Anyone with information should call Essex Police on 101.
