Police hunt Sudbury hit and run driver

POLICE are appealing for information following a hit and run in Sudbury yesterday.

The collision took place on the bridge in Brundon Lane at 4.20pm. An elderly woman who was standing on the bridge with her granddaughter was struck by a vehicle, which failed to stop.

Paramedics treating the woman at the scene, before she was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle, which is described as a maroon or red car or van. It is believed there were two people inside.

The driver of this vehicle or anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call PC Ben Coombes at Suffolk Police Headquarters Roads Policing Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
