PICTURES: Printmakers' art rubs off on visitors to exhibition at St Peter's in Sudbury
Visitors to St Peter’s in Sudbury got a taste of the kind of high-quality work produced by members of the town’s Gainsborough’s House Printmakers Workshop this week.
More than 30 members of the group, which has been going for 40 years, had artwork on show and for sale at their annual spring exhibition.
Printmaker Rosie Perkins said: “It’s work of a very high calibre. A lot of the printmakers are internationally renowned and have exhibited, for instance, at the Royal Academy.”
She said the printmakers workshop closes in November as part of an ambitious project that will see Gainsborough’s House double in size, with three new display galleries, a new café and a new art studio.
“All the current season’s workshop courses are running at the workshop, but it closes in November as part of the project,” she said.
Rosie added: “We have other exhibitions planned for Snape Maltings, from August 16 to 21, and at the Sea Pictures Gallery in Clare, running during the gallery’s opening hours, from October 12 to November 2.”
