TWO teenagers will be pushing their bodies to the limit this weekend as they attempt to raise funds for a trip of a lifetime to Borneo.
Sudbury Upper School students Ryan Alexander, 15, and Chris Greenhalgh, 16, are completing a sponsored 22-mile swim on Saturday.
The pair are hoping their feat of endurance, with each swimming 11 miles using a relay system, will help them reach the £3,500 needed to spend a month caring for orangutans, teaching English and building vital facilities in Borneo, as part of a Camps International charity expedition.
“I am really looking forward to going to Borneo,” said Ryan, who lives in Richard Burn Way.
“We are both confident we will get the swim done and have been doing lots of training.”
The swim is due to start at Braintree Swimming Pool at 7am, with both boys hoping to be finished by 6pm.
Six other pupils will be joining the duo on the trip from July 22 to August 18, along with Sudbury Upper School head of art Chris Roychowdhury.
