'Operation Protect' information booklet launched in Sudbury to offer key advice to businesses during coronavirus lockdown

An informative booklet providing key advice on how businesses can best tackle practical problems during the coronavirus lockdown has been published through the release of an electronic guide.

Operation Protect has been compiled by Penny Wilby, owner of business website thebestofSudbury, and explores a range of topics to support traders through the crisis.

Highlighting the uncertainty of the current situation for businesses across the country, Mrs Wilby, who lives in Boxford, said: “This is a really unsettling time – none of us really know how long the lockdown will last, so I’m taking this time to try to bring as many businesses together so that, collectively we can help and support each other.”

Key advice featured in the 36-page guide explores how traders, and their staff, can look after their mental health, while protecting the future of their establishment.

Around 100 electronic guides have already been sent to business owners, while a social media group, established on Facebook, called Operation Protect, has enabled local traders to discuss and debate a range of concerns.

“I’ve had some really positive feedback about the guide, which is great news,” said Mrs Wilby. “At the end of the day, if it helps build a resilient local economy, I will feel I’m doing my bit to help the businesses that contribute so much to our community.”
