Giant cake to mark 25th anniversary

A CELEBRATION of 25 years of the Beaver Scouts will see members of the Sudbury group attempt to enter the record books.

To mark a quarter of a century of the knot tying, camping and badge awards, a giant birthday cake measuring 8ft by 4ft has been baked and Beaver Scouts from the area will be decorating it this Saturday.

It is hoped the cake, which will be cut during a public ceremony outside Sudbury Scout hut in Quay Lane, on Sunday afternoon, will be big enough to enter into the Guinness Book of Records.

The cake was made by Alpheton baker John Haynes.
