Norfolk schools evacuated after bomb threat

A bomb threat led to the evacuation of two Norfolk schools

Investigations continue to identify the person or persons behind the bomb hoax at the two schools.

Officers were called to The Hewett Academy in Cecil Road, Norwich, and Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form in Bethel Street, Norwich at around 12.15pm today, following a report of a suspected bomb threat.

As a precaution the school took the decision to evacuate both premises. Police have left the scene and there is no credible information at this time to say that this was anything other than a hoax.

Officers would like to speak to anyone with any information relating to the threat or believes they may know who was involved. Witnesses are asked to contact Norfolk Constabulary on 101, quoting CAD 170, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
