Businesses in Friars Street will be hoping a new sign will provide a timely boost to their fortunes after difficulties following the fire on September 6.
Shops, cafés and restaurants on the road have said the closure and later partial blocking of the road has led to less footfall down the street.
A new sign on Market Hill informs shoppers what shops and eateries they can find.
The sign was initially brought about because of problems with A-board signs blocking the pavement and causing access issues.
But Sudbury Town Council clerk Jacqui Howells hopes it will provide a boost for the suffering shops.
“Sudbury Town Council has been working in partnership with Babergh District Council and Suffolk County Council Highways to eradicate the numerous unauthorised A-boards which have been blighting the town centre,” she said.
“We hope this will encourage visitors to venture down Friars Street and discover the wonderful array of independent shops on offer.”
