Heart patients living in the Lavenham area will benefit from specialist tests closer to home when a new cardiology clinic opens this week at the village’s GP surgery.
West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust will hold the cardiac ultrasound clinic at the Church Street surgery on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month.
It will give patients the chance to have the test closer to home rather than having to journey to Bury St Edmunds.
Cathy Fuller, diagnostic cardiology services manager at West Suffolk Hospital, said: “We are always looking for ways to make our services easier for people to access and hope that local people find these clinics useful and convenient.”
Patients who want to have their diagnostic test at Lavenham should tell their GP when they are referred.
