New chairman of Mid Suffolk District Council chooses new charities

The new chairman of Mid Suffolk District Council has unveiled the charities he hopes will get a cash boost during this term.

Councillor Derek Osborne, who represents the Rickinghall and Walsham ward, has chosen to support East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) and the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).

Cllr Osborne said he had chosen the two charities as they were especially close to his heart and added that both provided vital services to the county and were always in need of fundraising cash to survive.

He said: “Both of my chosen charities do so much for the communities in which we all live and work. EACH provides hospice care to children and their families and EAAA a vital life-saving service to anyone involved in a serious accident.

“Both rely heavily on fundraising activities to continue to provide these services and our communities would be a poorer place without them.”
