Nethergate Brewery installs life-saving equipment at its site in Long Melford
A defibrillator has been installed at a business in Long Melford, following an ambitious fundraising drive in the village.
The life-saving equipment is now available to the public outside Nethergate Brewery in Rodbridge Corner thanks to the efforts of staff who raised £1,500 to fund the project.
Spearheaded by the Long Melford Parish Council defibrillator working group, the team hopes to fulfil its long-term goal of ensuring all residents are within five minutes of a defibrillator.
A device was installed at the parish council offices in Cordell Road in December.
Others are needed in Bull Lane, Roman Way, Station Road and Shaw Road.
“To make this possible, we are looking for willing householders to allow a defibrillator to be fitted at their property,” said group chairman Richard Michette, adding that a power supply would be needed to keep the device warm during the winter months.
