Nayland artist launches Paint Brush ‘n’ Bubbles enterprise encouraging people to paint and socialise
Anna Boon’s new business is about creating an original artwork from scratch in an evening – all while meeting new friends and socialising.
The artist, who lives in Nayland, runs a painting enterprise with her 25-year-old daughter Charis, an art history graduate.
Called Paint Brush ‘n’ Bubbles, the business offers people the chance to spend the evening getting to grips with an acrylic painting on canvas.
Anna said: “It’s a great social evening where all the equipment is provided and people get to take home their own canvas at the end of the night. No experience is needed.
“We have been pleasantly surprised at how many people have found it therapeutic and relaxing.
“Most of them haven’t done any artwork since leaving school. It is a great way to get more creative and, in this busy world, have a bit of time to focus on the present.”
Anna worked as a travel agent before doing an art degree in her 40s.
“After I had children, I started adult education classes and was encouraged to take it further and do a degree. I now teach art to adults.”
Two evenings are planned at The Granary in Sudbury on February 7 and March 7, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
