Appeal after miniature digger and trailer stolen from property in Clare

A set of heavy machinery, including a miniature digger, a trailer and a hydraulic breaker, was stolen in Clare earlier this week, with police appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The theft took place at an address in Cavendish Road at approximately 5am on Monday.

At around this time, a number of offenders reportedly stole a Takeuchi TB216s mini digger, an Ifor Williams GH97 trailer and a hydraulic breaker, and are thought to have used another vehicle to remove the machinery from the property.

Suffolk Constabulary Detective Sergeant Simon Sharp said: “This is a live investigation and officers are conducting inquiries to locate the stolen machinery.

“High-value machinery is a target for opportunistic thieves, and officers would advise anyone who owns or operates mini diggers to keep them secure when not in use.”

“We would also ask that anyone who hears or sees any suspicious activity involving the potential theft of machinery to report this to their local police force.”

Police officers would now like to hear from anyone with information about the incident, who saw suspicious activity in the vicinity of Cavendish Road around the time stated, or who may have seen the stolen machinery.

If you can help the investigation, call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting the incident reference code CAD 52 of July 27. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
