Bank holiday revellers left Sudbury’s Friars Meadow littered with rubbish at the weekend.
Warm weather brought hundreds of people outside to have a picnic or barbecue by the River Stour.
Meadows ranger Adrian Walters, of Sudbury Common Lands Charity, said: “It’s the prevailing attitude of some people to leave their litter. As soon as we have a sunny spell, the place is trashed.
“The litter bins fill up very quickly, but people could still take rubbish home with them.”
He said he was grateful for the efforts of his two volunteers, as the litter was the worst he had seen for a weekend.
