Sudbury Mayor Jack Owen tried his hand at hairdressing last Monday when he was guest of honour at a charity evening arranged by a local salon.

The Fanboo Hair and Nail Salon in Sudbury’s Borehamgate Centre celebrated its fifth anniversary by raising money to fight prostate cancer - with a `Pamper Evening’.

The evening raised £190 for Prostate Cancer UK. The charity was adopted by Fanboo after a client’s husband fell ill with prostate cancer.

“We wanted to do something for the chaps,” said Fanboo owner Susan Sanders.
