A CARE home manager has completed his first marathon.

Martin Murphy, manager at Catchpole Court in Sudbury, finished the Liverpool Marathon in five hours and 15 minutes.

In doing so, the 38-year-old raised £174 for the home’s residents’ fund – and the figure is still rising.

Anne Roche, activities co-ordinator at the home in Walnut Tree Lane, said: “We are all so proud of Martin and what he has achieved.

“He said he enjoyed the marathon and is already looking forward to his next one.”

Mrs Roche said that because of Mr Murphy’s efforts, and the sponsorship money he has received, residents will be able to enjoy organised trips out and entertainment events in the coming months.
