Man who died in motorbike crash in Sible Hedingham has been named

Police have identified a man who died following a road traffic collision in Sible Hedingham as Craig Currie, 22, of Gateshead.

Emergency services were called shortly after 2pm on Sunday, June 5, with reports of a collision in Wethersfield Road involving four motorcycles.

Mr Currie sadly died at the scene.

Another motorcyclist, a 51-year-old man from Laindon, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge for treatment. He is currently in a critical but stable condition.

A 53-year-old man from Basildon was taken to Colchester hospital for treatment to minor injuries but has since been discharged.

Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses to the collision who have yet to come forward are asked to contact Pc Darrin Lee at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.
