Man suffers suspected fractured jaw during attempted robbery in Halstead
A man in his 20s suffered facial injuries, following an overnight attempted robbery in Halstead at the weekend.
The incident occurred off Mount Pleasant on Sunday at around 4am, when the victim reported that he was attacked by another man while walking in an alleyway.
The victim was subsequently taken to hospital, having suffered what police believe is a possible fractured jaw.
Officers attended the scene of the attack and located the man’s bag. They are currently trying to establish whether anything was stolen from the bag and the circumstances around the assault.
Anybody who has any information about what happened, or who observed any suspicious activity in the Mount Pleasant area before or after the time of the robbery, is asked to contact Essex Police.
They would also like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident
