A 37-year-old man from Sudbury is due to appear in court today on charges of two sexual offences, following an arrest in the town at the weekend.

Michael Holton, who is of no fixed abode, was arrested by officers from Suffolk Police on Saturday at an address in the town, on suspicion of sexual grooming.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, where he was then questioned by detectives.

Holton was subsequently charged with two offences - attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and attempting to cause or incite a girl under the age of 13 in sexual activity.

He has been scheduled to appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court for a hearing today.
