A man accused of committing 18 sex offences against girls – 12 of which are alleged to have taken place in Clare – has appeared in court.
Robert Bambury, 75, is charged with 10 counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16 dating back to the 1970s.
He is also accused of two counts of inciting a girl under the age of 14 to commit an act of gross indecency, the rape of a girl under 16 and five further indecent assault charges.
He appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, when he denied all the charges.
Bambury, now of Stowmarket, was released on bail ahead of his trial at Ipswich Crown Court today.
