Man arrested following Kersey robbery where victims were tied up


A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery that took place in Kersey in which the homeowners were tied up and a man was assaulted.

Police were called at just before 5.40pm on Monday, November 29 to reports of a robbery at a residential property in Kersey.

Three offenders entered the house demanding money from the two occupants before then tying the victims up.

One of the victims, a man, was then assaulted by one of the suspects who punched him in the face and head. The victim has sustained facial injuries which required medical treatment. The woman was uninjured but was very shaken by the incident.

The offenders carried out a search of the property before fleeing with a sum of cash. Officers attended the scene before 6pm and made a search of the area but no suspects were located.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man from Hadleigh on Saturday in connection with the incident.

He was questioned by detectives and has now been released on bail. He is due to return to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on February 2, 2017.
