A man was arrested, in connection with an incident involving a knife in Cavendish this week.

Officers from Suffolk Police were called out at around 1.40pm on Wednesday, to the vicinity of Lower Street, in response to reports from the public that a man was behaving erratically whilst holding a bladed item.

This led to a 35-year-old man being arrested, on suspicion of being possession of an offensive weapon, in addition to a Section 5 public order offence.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary confirmed that the man has subsequently been released under investigation, pending further enquiries into the incident.

She added that there was no threat to the public, and nobody was injured as a result of the incident.

Eyewitnesses or anybody with information about what happened should get in contact with police by calling 101.
