A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a series of driving offences, in connection with a police pursuit in Sudbury that ended with a car crashing into a wall.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, January 20, when a Ford Focus failed to stop for police in Cats Lane.

A short pursuit then ensued, before the Focus collided with the wall of a pub, also in Cats Lane.

Subsequently, the vehicle’s driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drink driving, driving under the influence of drugs, possession of class A drugs, and failing to stop for police.

He was later released under investigation, pending police enquiries.
