AN 80-year-old man has been banned from driving.
Stephen Stevenson, of Croft Court, Sudbury, appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with driving an Isuzu Trooper in Gregory Street on May 6 when over the drink-drive limit.
When stopped and breath tested by police, Stevenson recorded a reading of 92 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.
He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months and fined £100.
Stevenson, who admitted the offence, was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.
