Lights back on after act of vandalism

Police news.
Police news.

Sudbury’s Christmas tree lights went dark this week after vandals cut through a wire.

The wire was cut between 6pm and 6.08pm on Saturday, December 19.

The power was restored but Jacqui Howells, Sudbury Town Council clerk, said: “It’s such a shame because lots of people have commented on how good the Christmas lights look this year.

“It takes quite a lot of effort to get them up. It’s such a shame when people seem to vandalise for no reason, everybody suffers.”

Anybody with information on the incident should contact Suffolk Police on 101.
