A DECISION on plans to turn an art gallery into a luxury spa has been delayed.
The proposal – put forward by The Swan hotel in Lavenham – was due to be heard by Babergh District Council’s development committee on Wednesday.
But members opted to defer a decision on the development, which would see the Wildlife Art Gallery transformed into a spa with seven treatment rooms.
Councillors said they needed to carry out a site visit to assess the impact of the plans before reaching a decision.
The application, which has been submitted by the hotel’s owner Thorpeness and Aldeburgh Hotels Ltd, is expected to be discussed at the next meeting of the development committee on December 21.
