Lavenham’s three-day festival success

Lavenham Village Hall was packed out throughout the weekend as book-lovers from across the country came to listen to and meet top authors, including Sheila Hancock.

The actress was top of the bill on the Sunday, talking about her debut novel to author kate Mosse. The three-day festival, which started on Friday, also saw renowned storyteller Marion Leeper visit Lavenham Community Primary School.

Craig French, literary coordinator at the school, said: “The visit went very well and all the children certainly enjoyed the storytelling sessions.”
