Sudbury’s Brewery Tap in East Street is the venue for a comedy club on Wednesday night.

The Suffolk Punch Comedy Club opens its doors at 8pm to showcase new comedy talent from Suffolk and East Anglia.

The free entry show will features Maggie Kowalski from Poland, Dave Chawner an award-winning comic seen on television, Chris Joyce, and Bill Gavin Milnthorp from Bury St Edmunds.

As well as established comedians, there is an open mic slot for anyone who wants to have a go at stand up comedy.

Paul Johnstone from the Brewery Tap said: “If you have ever fancied having a go, here is your chance to shine in the spotlight. In fact we love it when people do.

“Laughter is good medicine and helps with many medical conditions. Money raised from the evening will go to the a prostate charity to help fund research. The charity has been chosen because I have prostate cancer,” he added.

The event is free, with a bucket collection shared between contributers and Prostate Cancer UK, and is held on the first Wednesday of each month.
