Keeping fit is made fun with new sports equipment at Great Waldingfield school
Six classes of children from Great Waldingfield Primary School have received boxes of sports equipment to promote health and fitness.
Bats, balls, footballs, skipping ropes and frisbees are just some of the items the school has invested in, along with the services of an activity specialist who is teaching the children how to stay active.
Headteacher Tina Hosford said: “We’ve probably got around 200 pieces of equipment and there’s something for everyone.
“The idea is to make keeping active fun. Every class has a box and they are all colour-coded for each class. They can enjoy using the equipment in addition to their usual PE activity.”
The school recently learned it had won a grant to enable it to mark out a series of games on its playground, such as hopscotch.
Mrs Hosford said children have enjoyed using the new play equipment.
