A cat has believed to have suffered a broken leg after it became trapped in a window at a Bacton home this morning.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the homeowner who placed the call feared the cat may break its leg should any attempt to be made to rescue it.

A fire crew from Elmswell attended the scene, in Birch Avenue, at 9.37am.

Using a crowbar, they managed to free the cat without causing it harm — although it is believed the cat did break its leg during the ordeal.

The RSPCA has been informed.
