SUDBURY Dramatic Society’s latest production – Dancing at Lughnasa – will be staged at the town’s Quay Theatre from May 10 to 14.
The play is set in an Irish village in 1936 and tells the story of a family of sisters who welcome back their elderly brother from a lifetime of missionary work in Africa.
He is suffering from malaria and has abandoned his religion in favour of pagan rites.
The individual stories of the family members are intertwined as they struggle with the stigma of their brother’s homecoming to a close-knit Irish community.
Each performance starts at 7.45pm and tickets are £5 from the box office on 01787 374745.
