A Great Cornard woman has been praised for her commitment after passing 10 training modules in 12 months, nine with distinction.
Iona Ratcliffe, 27, from Grantham Avenue, breezed through the Electrical Distributors Association’s learning courses while working in administration for Edmundson Electrical on Sudbury’s Woodhall business park.
Her work on nine of the modules, which included health and safety, lighting and design and distribution, was given a distinction grade by examiners.
Mrs Ratcliffe, who is currently on her honeymoon with husband Jamie, has worked at Edmundson Electrical, which distributes electrical components for businesses, for around nine years.
She has won two prizes for her training achievements in the last two years at the EDA’s annual industry awards.
Paul Webb, Mrs Ratcliffe’s manager, said: “Iona is one of my most loyal members of staff. To take all of these modules and do so well, you have to be very committed.”
Mrs Ratcliffe’s father, Ken Hayward, of Chilton Lodge Road, said he wanted to surprise his daughter by celebrating her achievements.
“She would never put herself forward for any attention,” he said. “She is a very conscientious person and loves to do things right and push herself.”
