Hundreds of pounds worth of heating oil stolen from tank in Sudbury




Hundreds of pounds worth of heating oil was stolen from a property in Sudbury this week, with police urging people to take measures to safeguard their oil tanks.

The incident took place some time between midnight and 2.20pm on Tuesday, when a number of offenders stole the heating oil, which had been stored in a tank on the property in Newton Road.

A shed was also entered during this time period, although it is understood that nothing was stolen.

Suffolk residents with oil tanks have also been encouraged to safeguard their property by installing lighting around their tank, ensuring any fencing or gates are secure, checking the oil gauges regularly, and investing in an approved oil tank alarm.
