A MONTHLY market joined up with a weekend of festivities to bring in a record number of visitors.

Lavenham Farmers’ Market hosted a heritage crafts demonstration as part of Suffolk’s Open Weekend on Sunday.

More than 1,000 people went along to the event, which saw the Suffolk Threads Project – a group that aims to show the heritage and significance of the county’s wool and cloth trade – in attendance.

Highlights of the day included the Lavenham Guild of Spinners and Weavers sharing their skills with onlookers, while a willow weaver, potter and woodturner displayed their work.
