Patients in Sudbury are set for safer and speedier treatment following the introduction of summary care records.
Hardwicke House in Sudbury is among the first two GP practices in the county to upload patient summaries, with other practices set to follow suit.
A summary care record (SCR) is an electronic record containing information on what medicines patients take, what allergies they suffer from and any bad reactions to medicines.
Already more than half of the population of England have an SCR.
Dr Simon Arthur, a GP and a member of the NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “This system is about giving patients treatment which is safer for them.
“It will also make it speedier and easier for healthcare professionals to access patient details.”
