Haverhill man arrested on suspicion of arson after resident is rescued from home by fire crews
A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a fire at a home in Haverhill this morning.
Police were contacted by the fire service just after 8.25am this morning, Thursday 14 July, to reports of the fire at a home in Abington Place.
A short time later it was confirmed that everyone was out of the property, but that the fire was thought to be suspicious.
An investigation got underway and the 22-year-old man, from Haverhill, was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and assault. He has been taken into custody at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he will be interviewed by detectives in connection with the blaze.
