RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say about plans to build new homes and a new school at Chilton Woods.
After a decade of being earmarked as a development site in Sudbury, the public is being consulted about what is planned.
A new consultation website has been launched at www.chilton-woods.co.uk which gives details of what could be in the pipeline for the 270-acre site, including:
l More than 1,000 homes, including affordable housing
l A new neighbourhood centre
l A school
l Community woodland
l Open space and parks
l A sports playing field.
The proposals are a joint venture between Suffolk County Council, Redrow Homes and a number of landowners and, according to the website, “will accommodate a major proportion of the district’s housing and employment growth needs for future years”.
A number of public exhibitions on the proposals are due to take place in the coming months, and developers Redrow Homes say the website is being updated throughout the consultation process.
Jane Storey from Suffolk County Council said: “I urge everyone to go online to view these proposals and let us hear your views.
“The proposals will see a holistic approach to meeting the needs of the local community and involving them from the very early stages.”
