Hartest farmers' market donates charity proceeds to village preschool

Hartest Preschool was chosen as the beneficiary of a £200 donation from the village’s farmers’ market.

Every December, Hartest Farmers’ Market chooses a local cause to donate its annual proceeds to.

On Saturday, committee members Anne McKenzie and Judy Stevens presented a cheque to Hayley Kyle, from the pre-school.

Mrs Mackenzie said: “It is important to keep these schools going to allow young families to move into the village.

“The preschool was grateful for the donation, which will be put to use.”

The market is held at the Boxted and Hartest Institute on the first Saturday of every month, apart from January.
