A Halstead man is due in court early next month, charged in relation with a series of cash machine thefts.

Levi Smith, of Ridgewell Caravan Site in Halstead, is one of three men to face charges following numerous ATM burglaries in London and Essex.

He has been summoned to court alongside Alfie Smith, 41, of Staines Road West, Ashford, and Hizekiah Roberts, 42, of Well Lane, Canterbury.

Smith, 35, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in connection with 48 different offences.

An Essex Police spokesman confirmed the charges against the three men have been secured in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Service, which is managing the case.

They will appear for a hearing at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, February 4.
