A new skatepark was officially opened in Hadleigh on Saturday. The park at Calais Street Recreation Ground has been the product of two years’ hard fundraising.

It was organised by Mark Ward, Gavin Talbot and Phil McCormack who are all ‘older’ skaters within the Hadleigh area. More than 100 people came to celebrate the achievement. In total £120,000 was raised through different grants and fundraising days.

“The skatepark project was to give something back to the kids,” said Mr Ward.
