Hadleigh photo appeal

AN appeal has been launched for old photos and mementos of the Queen’s coronation in 1953.

Hadleigh Town Council is organising a church service, followed by a tea party in the town hall, to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June.

The council has decided to mark the occasion by having a display of photos and memorabilia from the 1950s and has asked residents to look back in their photo albums to see how the town commemorated the accession of the new Queen at that time.

The appeal is for photos of specific events in Hadleigh in 1952 or 1953, or souvenirs that residents would be prepared to lend for the event.

If you are able to help, contact the town council on 01473 823884.
