Great Cornard vehicles targeted by gang of five

Police are investigating a series of attempts to steal from cars last night after five men were seen acting suspiciously in Great Cornard.

The incidents happened between just after midnight and 7am in Grantham Avenue, Highbury Way and Moorsfield.

Football boots and kit were taken from a Vauxhall in Grantham Avenue and electrical items and a wallet stolen from a van in Highbury Way.

The offenders also tried the door handles of a Ford in Moorsfield and got into a Ford in Grantham Avenue but nothing was taken.

Police are linking the four incidents and say three of the men wore track suits, one was of mixed race with short or shaved hair and slim build. A second man had ear length curly hair and he and another male wore grey track suits.All wore back packs.

Police want anyone who may have seen anything suspicious relating the to the thefts to contact Sudbury and Great Cornard Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 quoting SU/15/1903.

They also warn residents to make sure to lock their vehicles and be alert for anything suspicious.
